Botanical Name: Lepidium Meyenii

Origin: China

English Name: Maca Powder

French Name: Poudre de Maca

Also Known As: Dried Maca Powder, Lepidium Powder, Maca Root Powder, Lepidium meyenii Powder

Part Used: Roots of Lepidium meyenii

Description: Maca is a perennial plant native to the high Andes of Peru, typically growing 12–20 cm tall with a thick, tuberous root. The plant produces small, yellowish-green flowers on slender stalks during the growing season. The roots are harvested when fully mature to preserve their natural colour, firmness, and botanical character.

The tuberous roots are firm, dense, and range in colour from cream to light brown. Once dried, they retain their natural structure and texture. The dried roots are milled into a fine, uniform powder that maintains the identifiable characteristics of the plant while providing a convenient form for blending, storage, and culinary use.

After harvesting, the roots are thoroughly cleaned to remove soil and debris, then dried using controlled low-temperature methods. Once fully dried, the roots are milled and sieved to remove coarse fragments, resulting in a clean, free-flowing powder suitable for multiple applications.

Uses: Maca Powder is used in culinary recipes, tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, craft projects, cosmetic formulations, decorative displays, and educational herb collections. Its fine texture allows it to blend easily into dry mixes, infused preparations, and creative applications where natural root character and botanical authenticity are desired.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
