Description: Horny Goat Weed is a perennial herb native to China and other parts of East Asia. It typically grows in low, spreading clumps forming dense foliage with slender, erect stems. The plant usually reaches a height of 15–50 cm, depending on environmental conditions, and can grow year-round in mild climates. Its heart-shaped, leathery leaves have a slightly glossy surface, often with a subtle veining pattern. During the growing season, the plant produces small, delicate flowers in shades of yellow, pink, or purple, which rise above the foliage on slender stalks, giving it a layered and textured appearance.

The aerial parts of Horny Goat Weed are harvested when the leaves are fully matured but still tender, usually in late spring through early autumn. The leaves are slightly leathery yet flexible, while the stems are slender and pliable, making them suitable for cutting and sifting. The plant’s natural spread and low-growing habit create a dense, leafy appearance that is visually appealing in dried form. Its identifiable leaf shape, stem structure, and delicate flowers provide a botanical character that is easily recognized even after drying.

After harvesting, the leaves and tender stems are cleaned to remove dirt, stalks, and extraneous material. The plant material is then dried at controlled low temperatures to preserve the natural green to slightly yellowish colour and the texture of the leaves. Once fully dried, the herb is cut and sifted into uniform pieces with visible leaf and stem fragments. The final product is carefully sorted to remove fines and broken material, resulting in a clean, free-flowing herb suitable for blending, storage, and multiple applications.

Uses: Horny Goat Weed C/S is used in tea-style infusions, herbal and botanical blends, flavouring preparations, culinary recipes, craft projects, cosmetic formulations, decorative herbal displays, and educational herb collections. Its identifiable leaf and stem pieces make it suitable for infused preparations, botanical mixtures, and creative applications where the natural form and structure of the plant are desired.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
