Description: Hawkweed is a low-growing perennial herb native to Europe and parts of Asia, forming dense mats with slender creeping stems and basal rosettes of oval, hairy leaves. The plant produces small, bright yellow, dandelion-like flowers during late spring to summer, with smaller alternate leaves along the flowering stems. The aerial parts, particularly the leaves, are harvested when fully mature to retain their characteristic shape, colour, and delicate texture.
After harvesting, the leaves and stems are carefully cleaned to remove soil, debris, and unwanted material. The plant parts are then dried under controlled low-temperature conditions to preserve their olive-green to brownish-green colour, soft texture, and mild herbaceous aroma. Once dried, the material is cut and sifted into uniform pieces, maintaining the natural structure of the leaves and stems while providing ease of handling and consistency.
The processed Hawkweed is sorted to remove dust and broken fragments, resulting in a clean, free-flowing botanical ingredient with uniform size, colour, and quality. This ensures reliability for blending, storage, and use in various applications where intact or partially cut plant material is preferred.
Uses: Hawkweed Herb C/S is used in tea-style infusions, herbal blends, dried botanical mixtures, cosmetic formulations, craft projects, decorative herb displays, and educational herb collections. The cut and sifted leaves and aerial parts provide visual appeal, texture, and consistent quality, making them suitable for infusions, herbal mixes, and applications where recognizable plant material is desired.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
