Description: Ginger is a tropical perennial plant that grows from thick, knobby rhizomes and reaches a height of 1–1.5 metres. The plant features long, narrow, lance-shaped leaves and slender stems topped with greenish-yellow flowers. Native to Southeast Asia, ginger is now widely cultivated in India, China, and other tropical regions with rich, well-drained soil and humid climates. The rhizomes develop their full aroma and flavour after 8–10 months of growth, at which point they are harvested for oil extraction.
The collected rhizomes are carefully cleaned and cut, then subjected to steam distillation under controlled conditions to extract the essential oil. This process separates the volatile aromatic compounds from the solid fibrous material, yielding a pale to golden-yellow liquid with a strong, warm, spicy fragrance that retains the characteristic aroma of fresh ginger. The steam distillation preserves the natural qualities of the rhizome while producing a concentrated and highly aromatic oil.
The oil is filtered and stabilized to ensure purity, consistency, and ease of use. Its smooth, light viscosity allows it to be blended into formulations or used directly in aromatic projects. The oil’s concentrated aroma makes it a versatile ingredient for fragrance applications and botanical blends.
Uses: Ginger Oil is used in aromatherapy, perfumery, diffuser blends, massage oils, soaps, candle formulations, spice and herb-inspired craft projects, and botanical aromatic displays. It is also suitable for culinary experimentation in infused oils or flavouring preparations, fragrance development, and creative projects where a concentrated, warm, spicy, and aromatic ginger oil is desired for scent, texture, and natural botanical character.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
