Botanical Name: Angelica sinensis

Country of Origin: China

Common Name: Dong Quai Root

English Name: Dong Quai Root Cut & Sifted

French Name: Racine de Dong Quai Coupée et Tamisée

Also Known As: Angelica sinensis Root, Chinese Angelica Root, Dried Dong Quai Root

Part Used: Dried roots of Angelica sinensis

Description: Dong Quai Root C/S is prepared from the mature roots of Angelica sinensis, a perennial plant native to high-altitude regions of China and surrounding areas. The plant develops thick, branching roots that are harvested at full maturity to ensure consistent size, density, and botanical quality.

After harvesting, the roots are carefully cleaned to remove soil, fine rootlets, and surface debris. They are then sliced into sections and dried using controlled air-drying or low-temperature methods to reduce moisture while preserving the natural tan to light brown colour and fibrous internal structure of the roots.

Once fully dried, the root slices are cut and sifted into uniform pieces. The finished dong quai root C/S consists of firm, aromatic-looking fragments with a consistent appearance, making them suitable for blending, storage, and various botanical applications.

Uses: Dong Quai Root C/S is used in tea-style infusions, herbal beverage blends, botanical craft projects, decorative herb displays, and educational herb kits. It is also suitable for cosmetic formulations, natural dye work, and creative projects where dried root material is valued for its texture, colour, and botanical presentation.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
