Botanical Name: Eclipta prostrata / Eclipta alba
Country of Origin: India
Also Known As: Eclipta prostrata Herb Powder, False Daisy Powder
Part Used: Dried aerial parts of Eclipta prostrata, finely milled
Description:
Bhringraj Powder is made from the aerial parts of Eclipta prostrata, an herbaceous plant found in tropical and subtropical regions. The harvested plant material is cleaned to remove natural field debris and dried to maintain its characteristic green to brown tones. Once fully dried, the herb is finely milled into a smooth powder and sifted for uniform texture. The resulting material reflects the natural colour and composition of the original plant.
Eclipta prostrata forms slender stems and small leaves, producing a lightweight herb that dries evenly and mills well into a consistent powder. When processed, the powder retains the plant’s earthy aroma and natural fibre content. Its fine texture makes it suitable for incorporation into dry blends, craft applications, and cosmetic formulation work.
The cleaned herb is dried using controlled warm-air methods to reduce moisture while supporting structural stability. The dried material is then ground into a fine powder and passed through mesh screens to remove coarse fragments.
Uses: Bhringraj Powder is used in cosmetic formulation, handmade soap projects, natural colouring work, incense-style blends, botanical craft mixtures, and educational herb kits. Its fine texture allows easy mixing into powders, pastes, and craft bases where a plant derived ingredient is desired.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. Refrigeration not required.
