Also known As: Activated Carbon
Country of Origin: India
Production: This process of turning coconut shell into charcoal is also called charring or pyrolysis. Essentially, the coconut shells need to be subjected to very high temperatures (between 300 and 500 degrees Celsius) for several hours in order to break down into charcoal. The vessel in which this process happens may vary. Activated Charcoal (Coconut Shell Based) is used both as a deodorizer and decolorizer. The odorless and non-toxic characteristic qualities of coconut shell charcoal make it a widely used deodorizer and decolorizer in the air conditioning industry, cosmetic industry and water purification plants.
Storage: In a cool, dry space, sealed against the elements as much as possible.
